London’s Christmas Markets 2014

There is nothing better that coming to London to enjoy its Christmas markets. It’s the jolliest time of the year and the capital certainly matches the mood with plenty of food, drink, fun, games and entertainment on offer. Here Clarendon chooses our top five Christmas markets to make your stay in London a festive one.

1.          More London Christmas Market

There are a couple of ingredients you need for the perfect Christmas market; fresh produce like cheeses, chocolates and chutneys (the Christmas C’s!), the chance for a few last minute presents and a little festive cheer. Well this market has it all. Alongside the food there are toys, gifts and handmade crafts. Browse to the sounds of local choirs and pop into the visit the Christmas grotto. Plus you even have views of Tower Bridge to make it even more special.

2.          Mid Century Christmas Market, Hammersmith Club, Saturday 14 December

Enjoy a retro Christmas at the Hammersmith Club with rockabilly music, the chance to have your hair restyled in pin curls ready for the festive season. Take a souvenir snap of your vintage look and top it all off with a brew in an antique teacup. The market is close to Clarendon’s serviced apartments at Hammersmith.

3.          Handmade Christmas Fair, The o2, 13-15 December

How hard is it, every year, to find exciting, new and different Christmas presents. The Handmade Fair works to make it a little easier. Contemporary designers, crafters, artisan food makers gather at the o2 where you browse through stalls and chalets for the perfect gift. There are handcrafted jewellery and accessories to choose from. It’s a day out as well with workshops and demos from crafting experts. The o2 is close to Clarendon’s Canary Wharf apartments

4.          Hyde Park, 22 November – 5 January

Hyde Park is the best place to head for festive fun outdoors this winter with fairground rides, the iconic ice rink and over 200 chalets full of gifts, toys and decorations. Festive foodie treats will be on offer as well. Hyde Park is close to Clarendon’s serviced apartments in Covent Garden.

5.          Belgravia Christmas Sunday at Elizabeth Street and Pimlico Road, 7 December

Belgravia is easily one of the most elegant concerns of London. See it transformed into a traditional Christmas market as its streets are lined with arts and craft stores. Santa and his herd of reindeer will be joined by carol singers and a traditional brass band. In Pimlico retailers will offer a quirkeir Christmas with jugglers, trumpeters, roast chestnuts and toffee apples.
