London’s best restaurants for those burning the midnight oil

You know how it works; you’re working late in the office, when you finish most of your contemporaries will be tucked up in bed. Yet you still fancy something to eat. Late night office working can be a real problem when you’re entertaining clients and you don’t want to take them out for a takeaway. Here are Clarendon’s suggestions for restaurants to visit well after much of the capital has gone to bed.

Bar Italia, close to Clarendon’s Covent Garden serviced apartments

This is a family owned business that is well known for the quality of its food. After a long day at work they can fix you a coffee to your perfect requirements. If a caffeine injection will keep you up then why not tuck into a hearty pizza.

Tinseltown, Farringdon

This restaurant is open 24 hours a day and is an authentic American diner. A host of celebs have stopped off here for food including David and Victoria Beckham. Mega portions are on offer, which are ideal if you’re hungry. The burgers are the stuff of legend and you can order custom-made milkshakes and desserts no matter what time of day it is.

Polo Bar, near Clarendon’s Bishopsgate serviced apartments

A traditional 24 hour British café this is the place to head to if you need a little comfort food or you want to tuck in an early (or late) breakfast. Fresh coffee is served all day and the café also has an alcohol licence. The café also delivers so if you really can’t get away from your desk it can bring your dinner to you.

Duck and Waffle, close to Clarendon’s Bishopsgate and Tower Hill serviced apartments

The Duck and Waffle is located on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower. It offers a slightly fancier setting with a fantastic view. There are over 100 covers so there’s plenty of space. The restaurant’s menu is heavily influenced by British and European culture. There’s a group menu, ideal if you’re bringing colleagues, and the menu is broken down into breakfast, brunch, all day and dessert so it’s easy to find what you fancy.

The Soho Diner, near Clarendon’s Soho serviced apartments

This new restaurant stays open until 3am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Offering good old French/American cuisine throughout the day it’s a great place to stop off and rewind after a long day. There is a wide cocktail menu plus express service for when you’re in a rush.
