London Tea Houses that can be reached quite easily from your Clarendon serviced apartment.
Tea is such a part of any person’s complete London experience that when buying tokens or remembrance gifts for yourself or for your friends, a small pack of tea is always at the top of a very short list.
The most common way to get tea is, of course, go to the grocery and get cartons of tea. While this is acceptable, you are not really getting the kind of high quality tea that real tea drinkers and gourmands look for.
If you are on the lookout for a place where you can buy really good tea – and also grab a chance to sip a cup or two, go to these five tea sellers in London:
Tea Palace
This new tea emporium is located in Covent Garden Piazza. It offers a large variety of teas and infusions as well as gift sets, accessories — even scented candles!
What’s good about Tea Palace is that there is always hot tea available for everyone. It is served at the basement. The staff are also very helpful and knowledgeable about their products.
East India Company
This tea emporium is one of the oldest and also the most history rich among the selections here. The East India Company was formed more than 400 years ago during Queen Elizabeth I’s reign. The adventurers and merchants who became part of the company travelled all over the world and brought home treasures, spices, coffees and teas. The East India Company flagship store is located in Central London. But aside from being able to buy teas from their store you can also buy it at their online store. The march of progress, indeed.
Teanamu
This small independent store is run by Chinese and tea expert Pei Wang. He loves to regale guests about his vast knowledge of tea. Aside from being able to buy tea the store, he also invites people to his house in Notting Hill for free tea tastings and also some weekend chaya. Talk about customer satisfaction!
Tea Smith
Located in Spitalfields Market, this shop offers unusual tea options. There is a Teabar located inside the store where you get to sit on a high stool while watching your tea being prepared. You’ll get two brews so there’s actually plenty of tea to be had.
The Tea House
This near-iconic tea shop in Covent Garden is already a famous landmark among locals. It sells over 100 tea varieties sourced from all over the world. Aside from teas, it also sells tea accessories and novelty teapots that are almost as popular as the teas themselves.
All of these tea houses can be reached quite easily from your Clarendon serviced apartment. If you are having problems about the address, do ask our helpful staff for directions. They’ll be more than happy to assist you!
