Wraysbury Hall attractions

For those who like the finer things in life then a day out at Windsor Castle can’t be too bad. Wraysbury Hall is just a 15 minute drive from the royal homestead. There are tours, a chance to explore the gardens as well as regular exhibitions. The Queen might even invite you for tea!

The castle isn’t the only nearby attraction. For a little retail therapy, the Elmsleigh Centre in Staines brings together high street names, restaurants, sports and beauty stores. With over 50 brands to choose from every visitor is likely find something to pique their interest.

This is a traditional corner of the world so historical villages are popular for days out. Egham is a beautiful location which is also close to Eton College. For younger children Legoland and Thorpe Park are on the doorstep.

Staines Upon Thames is only 40 minutes from London’s Waterloo so the Southbank, London Eye and Westminster are easy to fit in a day.

If your visit coincides with early summer then the annual Royal Ascot race meeting takes place every June. It’s one of the social highlights of the British summer and another great opportunity to rub shoulders with royalty.

Getting About

As well as being easy to get in and out of London Waterloo (Staines station is five minutes from Wraysbury Hall) it is also simple to get to other major cities in the south east. Trains run to Reading twice an hour and the journey is just 45 minutes. The train to Windsor takes just 14 minutes.

For those travelling by road the M25, M3 and the M4 motorways are nearby for easy access.

Heathrow airport is a 30 minute drive away, perfectly placed if family are jetting in from overseas or international travel is part of the job description.

Eating Out

The joy of serviced apartments like those in Wraysbury Hall means it is easy to recreate home cooked meals. Clarendon can even ensure your first shop is ready and waiting for you before you arrive. A WiFi connection means it’s simple to do an internet shop when you need to restock supplies, or you can visit the local supermarket. The benefit is that expenses are reduced because you don’t have to eat out.

Nearby Staines and Windsor offer traditional pub grub when you do want to take the family out for a bite to eat. There are Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and an American restaurant close by for those who fancy a special meal out.

Wraysbury Hall

The village of Wraysbury itself appears in the Doomsday Book and is close to where King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215. Inside Wraysbury Hall itself there is a choice of one, two and three bedroom apartments. Each is comfortably furnished offering bright and spacious accommodation. The one bedroom apartments have en-suite or separate bathrooms with spacious open plan lounge, dining room and fully fitted kitchens. The two bedrooms and three bedrooms have master en-suites and a family bathroom. The larger apartments also benefit from a private terrace or balcony so there is plenty of space for relocating families.
