Scientific research doesn’t just inspire medical cures, you know.
In fact, it has inspired the brand new installation from Kew Gardens, The Hive. It looks at the health of bees and other pollinators, and the vital role they play in the world.
Designed by Wolfgang Buttress, expect orchestral sounds, LED lighting and thousands of pieces of aluminium to make up the Hive. Walk through a wildflower meadow to get there, and be transformed into a new and immersive world.
The Hive will remain in place until the end of 2017, but if you want to be one of the first ones to see it, it opens on June 18th. Tickets for general admission to Kew Gardens come with free entry into the Hive.
