Located in Holborn, this is the house/museum of the architect Sir John Soane. This museum is considered the best house-museum in the world.

In his lifetime, Soane was able to collect thee most interesting objects from all over the world. You can even see the Seti sarcophagus in the basement of his house.

Moreover, the Museum is lit by candlelight on the first Tuesday of each month, from 6 until 9pm. This event is extremely popular so, if you want to get in to the house, we recommend that you arrive early.

Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising

Located just off famous Portobello Road in Notting Hill, this museum features over 12,000 original items from the Robert Opie Collection examining the consumer culture from Victorian times to the present day.

Geffrye Museum

In this museum you will see how English middle class homes have been used and furnished over the past 400 years.

There are eleven displayed period rooms from the 15th century to present day and every year during Christmas time, the museum holds an annual exhibition called ‘Christmas Past’ in which you can see each period room adorned as it would have been during the Christmas season.

Bank of England Museum

The Bank of England Museum displays the history of the bank in roughly chronological order, including many images showing the rebuilding of the Bank during the inter-war years. You will see several figures in appropriate period attire in many of the showcases. The Museum also contains a vast collection of coins, banknotes, books, furniture and a real gold bar that can be handled by visitors. This is an enriching experience, especially for people who are interested in knowing about British finance.

Grant Museum

The last university zoological museum in London is the Grant Museum. It contains about 67,000 specimens of practically the whole Animal Kingdom. In this Museum it is possible to see a huge collection of skeletons, mounted animals and specimens preserved in fluid. This hidden Museum in London is a must-see because it contains specimens of now extinct animals, such as the Quagga, the Tasmanian Tiger and the Dodo. It is a curious and interesting alternative to bigger zoological museums like the National History Museum.
