What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year. Originally an American tradition, the sales bonanza falls on the day after Thanksgiving each year, where retailers offer slashed prices off masses of products.
The huge discounts come in the run-in to Christmas and can be found both in stores and online.
So clear your diary and prepare to get huge discounts on Christmas presents for your family (and yourself).
What can I expect?
Aside from complete chaos?
Most of the big high street retailers take part including well-known brands such as Currys, Boots and John Lewis.
Can’t take time off work to shop?
Online stores such as Amazon will also be taking part, with retailers such as Argos offering deals both in store and online.
Be in the Know:
If you want to get the good deals before anyone else, it’s wise to do some revising ahead of Black Friday.
Firstly, sign up to your favourite store’s newsletters and follow their social media pages too.
If the store is taking part in the sales, they will probably advertise it on their Facebook or Twitter page.
It’s also worth finding out what time your favourite retailer opens in order to beat the crowds.
It may be helpful to know exactly what you want before you head to the sales to save you time looking around on the day.
And finally, have fun! Black Friday only come’s once a year so enjoy the sales bonanza while it lasts.
