Clarendon Serviced Apartments suggest you head to London this summer

What can you do in the summer months in London that you just can’t do anywhere else? How about head to a beach in the centre of the city, or a free music festival, or what about messing about on the river? All that, and more ….

Camden Beach

How do you get one of London’s hippest districts to turn into a beach? Why with 150 tonnes of sand of course! Complete with deck chairs, beach huts and a fully stocked bar, Camden Beach is home to end-of-the-pier attractions like an arcade game and ping pong. Stop for an ice cream and have a bite to eat at a pop-up restaurant. What more could you want from the summer?

London Free Festival

More London Free Festival runs throughout the whole summer and brings four months of theatre, music, film and family events to The Scoop by City Hall. There’s a four day street party to kick it off and it’s also the best place to watch Wimbledon (if you can’t get tickets to SW19!).

Get there early for events though because the good seats go fast!

Canary Wharf Rib Boat

OK so you’ve probably seen London by bus, by foot and by bike but what about by boat? This tour picks you up at Embankment Pier in Central London and passes under Tower Bridge. This isn’t a leisurely trip, however, it’s a high adrenaline speed boat experience taking your from Canary Wharf and back. It’s like a rollercoaster on water and you’ll see some of the most famous landmarks in London while you’re at it.

Open Air Theatre at Regent’s Park

Is there a more civilised way to spend a sunny afternoon that at an open air theatre? At Regent’s Park they mix serious drama with summer Shakespearean romps and a big old musical to finish off the summer. This year enjoy A Winter’s Tale as well as Pride and Prejudice and The Sound of Music. Something for everyone!

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Two years ago the Olympic Park was filled with, well Olympians. Now you’re more likely to find kids and their families enjoying a day out. Try badminton or cycling in the velodrome. Or head to the Olympic sized pool where Becky Adlington won her medals. There are plenty of trails and tours to enjoy. Visit the London Aquatics Centre, The Lee Valley Velo Park and the famous Stadium.

Make the most of your time in London this summer. If you want to visit any of these great attractions and are looking for a central place to stay, Clarendon Serviced Apartments has accommodation in Canary Wharf, The City, Soho, Barbican, Hammersmith, West London and South West London.
