Clarendon Serviced Apartments investigates where's best for desserts in London?

While the weather may have cooled down a bit, it is still summer and as such you must try London’s frozen treats. Clarendon serviced apartments has discovered the best places to dip out in the day and grab a sweet treat. Yes, we know it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!

Amorino, close to Clarendon’s Soho serviced apartments

There are some superb ice cream parlours in Soho. Amorino, a traditional Italian parlour is one of the finest. There are jars of biscotti on display and wooden furniture adding to a warm and homely surrounding. Ice cream is organic and free from any preservatives or artificial colouring. Some of the most popular flavours are pistachio, hazelnut, salted caramel and tiramisu. They also spoil us with weekly specials like Sicilian citrus. On a warm evening you’ll have to queue and seats are at a premium

La Gelatiera, near to Clarendon’s Covent Garden serviced apartments

La Gelatiera’s approach is to go for inventive flavours. The chocolate and chilli gives a flavoursome kick whilst sour cherry and meringue wakes up your taste buds. The ices are made with seasonal ingredients so it’s all fresh fare. Through a glass floor you can watch the magic happen in the basement “laboratory” below.

Ice cream parlour at Harrods

You could once find Morelli’s in the central Harrods food hall. It’s now moved to the brand new Ice Cream Parlour on the second floor. Over 50 customers can sit and enjoy ice creams, sundaes and shakes. Try a fruity burst with the fragola or a mix of textures with cookies, chocolate sauce and wackers. You can choose a takeaway ice cream with three scoops to make your own.

Scoop, close to Clarendon’s serviced apartments in Covent Garden

If there’s one thing this gelateria needs it’s outdoor seating. You can always buy an ice cream and then head over to the piazza and enjoy it on the cobblestones, though. Matteo Pantani sources his fine ingredients straight from Italy. You get the authentic smoky flavours of the nuts from Bronte, the sicilian village known for its pistachios.

Freggo

Just five minutes from Piccadilly Circus, Freggo is the UK branch of Argentina’s best known ice cream chain. Expect south american flavours like dulce de leche tramontana and malbec and berried. You can also choose from milkshakes, empanadas and great coffee. Take home tubs are under £7.

If you’re in London and need a tasty treat to help you keep cool down look no further than these great spots, all close to Clarendon serviced apartments in the West End.
